Well, CPU architecture basically describe how is(are) structured your CPU(s) in your system:
- Single Core = 1 CPU
- Dual Core = 2 CPU
- Quad = 4 CPU
As all new PC are DUO or higher (but some of us still use crappy PC to run RF) during installation process is required to insert your CPU architecture. So if You wrong it I recommend to uninstall it and reinstall it again selecting the correct CPU architecture.
And now a list of stupid questions/request (sorry I have to do it

):
1. Do you run RF using the desktop shortcut created during installation ( or START-> Programs -> Roboforge --> Roboforge)? It's very strange for me that RF didn't start windowed as the Shortcut should force it. In addition (in my PC) javaw.exe run only if you run directly roboforge.exe. Did You do this? I recommend to use the shortcut created.
2. RF has been set tu run OpenGL dll as default. Could You try to run RF (in some way) and select:
"Options-->DirectX" then "Save and Exit".
If You can't get any benefits from DirectX settings restore OpenGL.
3. If I undestood correctly,in your PC "old" v 1.34 "just crash" (often) but didn't create the "javaw.exe" error message . So assuming you have a dual core (as You are using Vista) try to run directly Roboforge.exe (double click on it) and then open Task manager(CTRL + ALT +DEL), select Process Tab, select "javaw.exe", right button of mouse on it, Set Affinity and leave set only CPU 1 (disable cPU 0). This should:
- run Roboforge in full screen mode
- use just one CPU (reducing system hangups)
Please let me know if some of this tips works (as feedback).
